This past summer, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church jumped on the Ablaze! Mission Project bandwagon.  Thanks to the combined efforts of the Sunday School, Congregation, and especially VBS, we met our goal of $1500.  This means that there will be three pallets of bricks available to help build a mission center through LCMS somewhere in the world.  That also means we are that much closer to adding another home where people can go to learn about and praise the Lord.  

The students in Summer Sunday School learned about three countries where LCMS is doing mission work.  In June, they studied Russia; in July, they studied Kenya; and in August, they studied India.  For each country they learned about the people, the land, the food, the animals, and the missionaries who are working there.  The students were also encouraged to spread the good news among people here who they knew to be in need of hearing about the saving grace of Jesus Christ. 

We recently heard from Pastor Jon Muhly, a missionary who is serving in .  The Sunday School students sent birthday cards to Pastor Muhly over the summer, and he just received them this past week (October 10).  Pastor Muhly hopes to communicate directly with the students at some point to thank them personally. 

In , there is a famous saying in Swahili called Harambee.  It means, “Let’s work together.”  Well, Our Redeemer certainly did that this summer.  And now, by the grace of God, more people may come to know the Lord and be saved.
